Today is a typical January day – minus the snow. It is cold, dark, and rainy. It is not cold enough to turn the rain into snow but it is cold enough that being outside you can feel it in your bones – wet and cold. And it is so dark that we have to turn on lights in the house during the day. If we are lucky enough to have this day on the weekend then these are down days – days to stay inside and play board games or snuggle up on the couch to watch sports or movies. Or they are perfect to walk outside with rain boots and an umbrella jumping in water puddles along the way.
I decided it was a perfect day to walk in water puddles with Baxter. Here we are huddled under our umbrella.
The farmland picture at the top was taken along the way to the trail. Peaceful, quiet, and muddy. It is resting and replenishing for spring and summer. Maybe that is what rainy days are for us!
Please enjoy the rest of the photos taken today. I enjoyed the walk although it was shorter than expected because the rain picked up along the way!
