Professional Headshot

Professional headshot sessions are fun and quick! This is a time to reflect on your career, think about what you want to portray, treat yourself to “me time” by primping prior to the session, and then come in to your session relaxed and ready to show the world your unique style.

Many people ask what they should wear to their session. Wear what reflects your career and personality. Just be you! Look into the camera as if you are meeting a colleague for the first time and relax.

But if you need more details on what to wear and what to avoid, here are quick tips:

• Wear long sleeves
• Bring a dark and light top or outfit to switch into.  You’d be surprised how often people go with an outfit or color they did not expect to select!
• Try different necklines and for business professional headshots avoid the low necklines. 
• As a general rules avoid patterns and stripes but honestly, as you see below, we throw the rules out the door every once in a while!   (Rules are made to be broken in photography). 🙂
• And here are guidelines for colors, but you can throw this out as well.  🙂
  • Dark colors are perceived as formal while light colors are perceived as more approachable
  • Blue portrays confidence and security
  • Green portrays health and prosperity
  • Black is power and sophistication
  • Red is considered a color of action and strength
  • White is considered a color of simplicity and perfection

Professional headshot sessions can be in the studio, at your office, or at a location that represents your career. There are so many options!
