Fall 2014

I love Fall.  I do not like what follows Fall too much but I do love Fall.  This is the time of year when the temperatures can fluctuate from very warm to very cold and all temperatures in between.  The leaves begin to change colors and drop once the temperatures are colder.  And this new color is usually very vibrant at the height of the fall season.AW7_0034_AW_WM_w

Baxter, my trusty hiking partner, and I visited McCormick’s Creek State Park in Indiana one Fall weekend recently.  Baxter loves to hike, loves to walk, and loves to go in the car anywhere.  The waterfall picture above was taken at McCormick’s Creek State Park and it tied for 3rd place in a local photo club contest on ‘Your Best Idea of October’.

The drive to McCormick’s Creek was beautiful.  Some corn crops had already been harvested, while others were in the midst of the process.  Here is a photo of one of the fields that was partially complete.

Many years ago when I first moved to Indiana I thought for sure I would move away as soon as possible.  The winters are so cold and this beach-weather-childhood person had a very hard time dealing with it.  But the payoff is the four beautiful seasons.  And Fall has got to the one of the best – next to spring.  🙂
